Word 2000 add-in problem

I have developed add-in for Word with some custom PIAs (version 2000) be
referenced. The plugin works fine on Office 2000 (installs correctly on
startup) but on Word 2000 nothing happens. In the registry the addin is
registered properly - the only issue is with the LoadBehaviour key in the
registry - when I set it to 3 it resets to 2 when I start Word 2000. What
should I do to make my plugin generic for Word 2000 and upper versions? Now I
am using the lowest denominator technique (PIAs for Word 2000) with late
binding if I need features of later Word versions. But unfortunately my
add-in does not start in W2000. Is there any debugging technique to be
applied in this case?

There is a bug in the framework that can be repaired following the
instructions stated in the article
