WORD (2000 and 2003) Mail Merge Documents

D

Don R.

We have MS Access 2000 / MS Word 2000 mail merge applications.
After Office 2003 install, these applications do not work any more.
Some sort of DDE error is occurring.

Most used parameterized queries as data sources for the merge.

Is there some upgrade process available or must these documents be matched
with a new data source manually.

Thanks,
Don

Office 2003 uses a different method of connection between Word merge and its
data. You can still connect using DDE - see the Excel data section of
http://www.gmayor.com/mail_merge_labels_with_word_xp.htm (Excel & Access
have the same issue). Word 2003 also expects to find its data file in either
the same folder of the document or in the My Data Sources folder.
