Word 2000 and Windows 7?

Looks like I'll have to be dragged kicking and screaming to a new machine
with Windows 7 on it (although I am perfectly happy with XP).

Anyone here using Word 2000 happily on Windows 7?

I believe the word is that even Office XP has problems on Windows 7 (though
the chief problems cited are with Outlook 2002); I think Office 2000 would
definitely not be recommended, though some users report having no problem
with it.

There is a Windows 7 Compatibility Center where you can check compatibility
of hardware and software. For Office 2000, see
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/co...arch.aspx?l=en-us&type=Software&s=Office 2000.
Note that the "Action recommended" is an upgrade to a later version. This
may reflect only the fact that Office 2000 is out of support.

and many other pages you'll find by googling for "Office 2000 in Windows 7."

Good summaries at

and http://office-watch.com/t/n.aspx?a=1517. I'd say the bottom line is
discouraging.

It seems to be as happy as ever on my Windows 7 box.
