Word 2000 - Autocompleting date while typing no longer works after the new year

I've been using Word 2000 for a while now. I mainly use it to type a
journal. At the end of each entry of the day, I usually type the date
out in the following format:

-- Sunday, January 9, 2005

When I would type the day of the week, Word will recognize the name of
the day of the week I was typing and it would finish the day for me.
That still works. But it used to complete the date for me as well when
I started typing the month. It would recognize the day and
autocomplete the rest of today's date. But ever since the new year,
when it gives me the option of autocompleting the date, it always gives
me yesterday's date.

I've checked the clock on the computer and it's right. I don't know
what's going on. Anyone else experienced this? Thanks.

Make sure that the clock/calendar on your system is correct. Also note that
Word picks up the date when it is started and does not update it while the
application is running; you have to quit Word and restart it to update the
date.

Ah. Thanks Susan. I think your last comment was the solution. I had
been leaving the Word shell open, but closing the document. It works
correctly now. Thanks.

Gee, I was hoping that after three tries you might get my name right! <g>
