Word 2000 Bookmark Problem

A

Alex Cameron

When a user tries to Insert a Bookmark into a document
which contains numerous shortcuts to other sections within
the document, Word freezes momentarily and then produces
the following error;

"Microsoft Word for Windows has encountered a problem and
needs to close. We are sorry for any inconvenience."

When we click for detailed info in the Error Report we
find that the Error Signature comprises the following info;

-----------------------------------------------------------

AppName : winword.exe
Appver : 9.0.0.6926
ModName : mso9.dll
ModVer : 9.0.0.6926
Offset : 001a6b50

-----------------------------------------------------------

O/S : Windows XP Professional, SP1
MS Office 2000 SR1 w/ SP3

- It appears that the user has moved certain sections
around, possibly invalidating the shortcuts. We think that
this may be causing the error.

- Is there any possible way of restoring the document?

Any info regarding this issue much appreciated.

Thnx in advance,

Alex
