Grace C

I have word 2000
I received a file writen in word xp, and all I get are 100
pages of these characters:
XHBhbm9zZSAwMjA3MDMwOTAyMDIwNTAyMDQwNH1Db3VyaWVyIE5ldzt9e1x
mMzVcZnN3aXNzXGZj
aGFyc2V0MFxmcHJxMntcKlxwYW5vc2UgMDIwYjA2MDQwMzA1MDQwNDAyMDR
9VGFob21hO317XGYz
N1xmcm

I asked for the file to be saved as Word 2000 and the same
happened. The other person can see and edit the file with
no problem, but it's me that have to edit it to be able to
deliver it tomorrow!!
If anyone has any idea of how to open it I'd be sooooo
happy!!!
Thanks in advance,
Grace.

Hi Grace,

In Tools=>Options=>Compatability turn on
[x] Confirm Conversions at Open to see if
Word thinks it's a Word document. Also check
that the file was sent as a DOC attachment and
that you have the same font used to create the
document.

Word 2000 and Word 2002 (XP) use the same format
for the .DOC file.
