With Word 2000 SP3, on Windows XP Home SP2, I get the following error when I
try to save a .dot file that has VBA code:
"Word Cannot complete the save due to a file permission error"
When I receive this error, my .dot file get renamed to something like
"~xxxx.tmp" and the File Attribute becomes "hidden" with the file size of my
..dot file. Then, there is a 1K temp file that gets created with the same
name as my .dot file, except for the first letter.
This does not happen everytime I save the file, but happens
intermittently...which means I never know when this will happen. When it
does happen, I have to reboot my PC and then rename the "~xxxx.tmp" file back
to my original .dot filename and everything is there, except for all the
latest changes from the last time I was able to successfully save the file.
Has anyone else seent his behavior?
