Word 2000 crash

I use XP. When my daughter opens Word 200 on her logon it
tells her there is an error and it has to close, as soon
as Documnet 1 starts to open. On all other logons it is
fine. I have downloaded service pack 3 and reinstalled
Word 2000 but it is still the same. I use Norton
antivirus which is up to date. Any help please? (In non-
technical terms). Thanks in hope.

Hi Jim,

Each user has their own profile, e.g. own Normal.dot, personal
Registry entries, etc so it isn't surprising that the problem occurs
for only one account. Take a look at this article for common

Reinstalling hardly ever works. When you are using different logins, all
users have their own normal.dot. The most likely cause is that your
daughter's normal.dot is corrupt. Go to Documents & Settings, Username,
Application Data, Microsoft. Template folder and rename her normal.dot as
normal.bad. Retry her login and Word.
