Word 2000 Crashes - Menu problems

I am running Word 2000 SR-1 under XP. Word opens
properly, but when I use the menu (File, Tools, etc),
Word freezes and crashes. I don't have the error message
with me (I will add it to this string later) but it gives
me a dump and the address it crashes on.

The toolbar works. I have tried uninstalling and
reinstalling numerous times.

Please help.
