Word 2000 crashes not on network

T

Tony Valderama

I have a HP pavillion P4 laptop running Windows XP home and microsoft office
2000. The only problem I have is with Word 2000, it works grat when connected
to my home network via the LAN cable but when I disconnect and open a
document it crashes an wants to send an error report to Microsoft. It then
kicks you out of Word loosing all your modifications to the document.

I have reloaded my laptop from the system restore disks and also done this a
second time after replacing the hard drive.

I run norton AV 2003 which is up to date and no other programs are giving me
any problem

This problem only arose after setting up network functionallity for me to
connect to the internet

Any help in rectifying this matter would be appreciated

Is the default printer located on the network? If so, change it to a
local printer, and make sure the printer driver for that printer is
installed on your hard drive. The default printer does not have to be
actually connected to the laptop.
