I've got a document written in Spanish which crashes Word 2000 (patched
to current) on one machine (all running WinXP SP2), but not others
(also running XP SP2). When you open the document it appears
momentarily on the screen, and then Word exits. There's no information
in the event log.
It doesn't matter whether the document is opened directly from Outlook,
where it was sent as an attachment, or whether the file is saved to
disk and then opened. On the one machine, which is clean of spyware and
such, trying to open this document will exit Word after a flash of the
document on the screen. On other machines, patched similarly, it will
work fine.
Any suggestions as to how to how to figure out what's wrong?
