Word 2000 does not open

Office 2000 Std. Short time ago when I tried to open Word 2000 all is get is
a screel that looks like a sheet of paper. Click on anything and the
computer freezes. All other programs work fine i.e. PPoint, Excel, E-mail,
etc. Have removed and reinstalled Office 2000, no good. Have run scans on
registry and cookies, and viruses and supposedly corrected all issues. Still
no Word 2000. I am completely frustrated. 4yr old was working fine. Only
thing I did some time ago I added Windows live and I think Bing was included.
That is it. Any ideas?

Several people have reported problems with older versions of Word with
Windows Live, and one expert said outright it's not compatible with
Word2002.

Hi DP,

If you've installed the Office Live update, you'll need to uninstall it - it's incompatible with Word 2000. MS really should have
built into the installer the logic to test (& not install) on systems containing MS products it conflicts with ...

Removing and reinstalling Office rarely achieves anything useful as it
doesn't affect the user settings that are usually at the root of problems.
