word 2000 does not open

[R.J.Ewing]

I am running word 2000. It has been error free until
recently. Upon opening, it will show the start up banner
and hang indefinately. I have tried removing and
reinstalling from from scatch, and the reinstall and
repair functions. The same problem persists.

Does anybody have any options I can try?
