word 2000 does not start, hangs and takes high 90 % of computer

No problems with access or excell just word

Things are better now . Used run winword /a

This opens a user name box my name and initials

Click Ok and it opens word 2000

Its the only way I can open word 2000

Does anyone no work around this ? Thanks
