Word 2000: Find Replace not storing last Found word

When I use Find/ Replace and I move on to another document but am looking for the same word, the Find function does not store the last searched for word in the text box, it shows it in the dropdown box, but I have to scroll to it. In 97 the text box showed the last searched for word.
