I've been having a recurring problem with Word 2000
freezing whenever I open up a document over the network.
Here's what happens:
I have 4 network drives (F, G, H, and I) that I map to
everytime I login by way of login script. All drives live
on the same server.
I start word. Click on FILE --> OPEN. I can pull up all
folders and documents on the F drive, G drive, and H
drive. When I go to the I drive, it freezes. The Open
File dialog box will hang. Sometimes, if I wait about 20
mins, it'll finish listing the files and folders, but who
wants to wait that long for a Word doc to open?
I tried removing and reinstalling Office. This worked
temporarily, then the problem recurs.
Any ideas? Please help! Thanks!
