Word 2000 freezing at "requesting virus scan"

When I try to open any document in Word 2000 Microsoft
Office my computer freezes while trying to open the
documennt. At the bottom of the screen, it
reads, "requesting virus scan" and never opens the
document. I then have to cnrl, alt, del to restart my
computer.

I ran my Norton Anti-Virus scan and it came up with
nothing. I've shut down and unplugged my computer
overnight and still a problem.

Can anyone HELP???

Try disabling the Norton Office Plug-in.
