Word 2000 gets stuck rectangular area and won't refresh.

Word document has a stuck Rectangular Area on the screen
that will not refresh. The area shows background images
such as other windows and applications.

This applies to MS Word 2000

I looked into the Microsoft support article. I was just
thinking if this patch would also work with Office 2000
applications.

I do not have service packs installed so I will try "SP"
installs first. I am hopeful that the patch was included
in the Office 2000 service packs.
