Word 2000 hangs when changing font

I have an XP Professional computer with Word 2000. There are three limited
user accounts and one administrative account. In one of the limited user
accounts every time I start a new document and try to change the font the
application stops responding and I have to end it through the task manager.
I do not have this trouble in any of the other accounts.

I have installed all of the latest Service Packs and updates, have done a
Detect and Repair, have deleted and rebuilt the Normal.dot to no avail. I
still get the problem only in the one account. I tried to see if I could
"run as" another user but the option is grayed out.

I do not want to delete the account and recreate it if I don't have to. I
would appreciate any suggestions on how to proceed. I have had no luck
searching the Knowledge Base.

Problems of this type usually point to a problem with the printer driver.
Try deleting and reinstalling the default printer.

Hi Suzanne,

I had seen a suggestion elsewhere about the printer driver but had not tried
it because the problem only occurs under one account and not the other
account that is mapped to the same network printer.

However, I will try your suggestion the next time that I get a chance (not
until next week).

Thank you for you help.
