Word 2000 hyperlinks broken

L

Louise Jones

I am using Office 2000 and Windows XP: for a few weeks
now, in Word, hyperlinks have not been formatting
properly on screen (no, I don't klnow what happened to
change it). I just see the html source code, and the
link will not work as a link; so I can only access stuff
by either cutting and pasting the url, or opening
individual files ..

This happens with documents written by me and by other
people. Documents print out OK; the formatting is
correct then.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2000; I have
checked that I am in 'normal' view; and I have
checked 'Tools/autocorrect/autoformat links etc' - all OK.

Anyone know what is going on and how to fix it/?

Have you tried Control+Click to use the Hyperlinks?

Have now - that is I guess you mean leftclick (right
invalid). Nope. Thanks for the suggestion; a moment of
distinct hope was enjoyable.

It's more than just that in that for instance, you know
the INSERT/index/table of contents command for adding a
contents page to a formatted document (specify level of
headers to be included). I've recently written a couple
of things with this feature; I cannot see the contents
list on screen, let alone use the links to navigate. It
shows up OK for others I have sent them to apparently;
and it shows up OK on print-out. Similarly, I was sent a
Word contract form with dropdowns and text inserted
as 'form entry'. Neither shows up; only {FORM DROPDOWN}
and {FORM TEXT} Mouseover on the dropdown shows me the
members of the list..

offers..??

that's all.

Tools, Options, View tab and clear the Field Codes box?
