I've been editing a few documents that, when loaded with
Word 2000 (0.0.6926 SP-3) react INCREDIBLY slow. Redrawing
the screen or selecting text or moving about in the document
slow the entire system down to a crawl, and Word takes up 100%
of the CPU time.
I've tried all the recommended steps (renaming Normal.dot, turning
off virus scanning software, checking all my settings, etc.), but
it does nothing.
When I cut and paste the entire document from one document to
a new one (and thus lose the font info, etc.), the document
behaves normally.
I have checked for macros in the document, but none show up
in the list, so I can't see how it would be an embedded script
in it.
Has anyone ever seen this before? Any clues how to find out what
in the world is going on in this document?
