Word 2000, Justification problem.

I am having a problem with Word 2000 and justification (Justify).

I have a page split into two columns of equal size and text typed to each
side, and now find myself having to type in an additional paragraph and
delete some line spaces to make this fit to a single page.

The problem is when I use the justify option on this page I know get on
several paragraphs large gaps in between words, and the only solution I can
find is to align the paragraph to the left, which then looks out of place.

Is there a way around this problem?

Thanks, Andrew.

Hi Andrew,

If you're not using automatic hyphenation, or if you're
using a 'text like' decorative font then Word won't be
able to effectively create space for justifying text other
than to increase the gaps between Words.

Are you using Format=>Columns to create the columns?
Are you viewing this in Print Layout view?

I am trying to Justify the paragraphs so that it is an equal length on each
side. I am also using the column command from format menu, the text is i am
using is Times New Roman size 8.

Have you tried going into Options and Compatibility tab and choosing the "Do
full justification like WordPerfect 6.x for Windows" option?

This vastly improves the look of fully justified text especially when
printed.
