Can a word document be too big?
I am writing a book and recently the file has started crashing my computer.
It doesn't freeze, there is no error message it simply resets as though I'd
hit the reset button. The file is 1,282Kb in size. Norton can't find anything
wrong with it, neither can Spysweeper - Its a very important file to me (yes
it is backed up) but it is becoming rather frustrating. Any ideas anybody has
would be most welcome!

While a document can be too big for Word to handle, you aren't anywhere near
the limit of 32 Mb. It can, though, be corrupted.

I agree with Charles. It sounds like time for a clean up of your computer
too after all those crashes. For advice on this see

When you say Norton, do you mean Norton Anti Virus? If you do have NAV, open
NAV and disable the Office Plug-in option.
