word 2000 loading documents across the network is very slow

Hi,

have an install of word 2000 on a new machine, when opening a document from
a network drive it can take anywhere from 30 seconds to 1 minute.

This only affects this machine.

I have tried the following

1. Move a document to the local machine and open it, this loads as expected
quickly
2. Remove the DDE setting, Word loads fast but the document dont load

And now i am stuck to be honest, any suggestions would be great!
