Word 2000 locks up system

I have Word 2000 in Works Suite 2000 package. Began
totally locking up computer yesterday. Only manual shut
down will regain access to computer. Norton scan reveals
no virus found. Tried uninstall/reinstall with no luck.
Acts like virus, but I'm stumped. Any ideas?

Having the same problem at the moment.Somethig about

system dangerously low in recources and then crash.
HELP...

If you're opening Word directly (not through Works), you could start by
uninstalling the Microsoft Works Suite Add-in for Word through Control Panel
| Add/Remove Programs. Then see
