Word 2000 locks up when loading

In the last several days Word 2000 locks up when loading on two PC's at home.
One has ME and the other Windows 98. This has never happened before and I'll
probably try to reinstall but I'm trying to find out why it happened on 2
PC's. Both have Norton Anti Virus (differents versions) and anti spyware
software.
The rest of MS Office still works.
Any ideas?
