Word 2000 low resource error on load

I can no longer run Word 2000 on my PC after using the
softward for more than 3 years. Each time I try to run
the application, the PC would hang and sometimes I would
get some errors about low PC memory and not enough
resouces. My only alternative is to reboot. I have more
than 2 Gig of free diskspace and 128Meg of PC mem, so I
don't think those are the cause of the problem.

I can load any other MS Office like Excel, Powerpoint,
etc and ANY other programs with no problem but each time
I try to run Word, my PC would hang and have to reboot.

I have tried removing and reinstalling Office 2000, run
all kinds of virus checkers and found none, perform
hardware diagnostics including memory checks, etc.

I am reduced to using the Notepad for now.. would like to
have my MS Word back.
