Word 2000 marked Text deleting with DEL cause question Delete Block NO / (Yes)

When I mark any Text and try it to delete with the Button
DEL, a question in the Statusbar appears: "Delete Block
NO / (Yes) ?".
How can I turn this question off?
The same deleting with BACKSPACE funcioned.

In Word, click on Tools | Options | General tab | uncheck the two boxes
for WordPerfect help and navigation | Edit tab | check the "Typing
replaces selection" box | OK.
