Word 2000 Migration to 2007

I like many Word 2007 Users, find the new 2007 version to be a little too
confusing, after using Word 2000 for many years.

After installing Office 2007, I went back and reinstalled just Word 2000
into a new folder called Microsoft Word 2000. When I try and run 2000, the
program seems to start normally and then just hangs up and does nothing.
Word 2007 seems to work OK.

Is it possible to have Word 2007 and 2000 on the same PC?

(I have a thousand Text (.txt) Word 2000 files and 2007 is screwing up my
old page format.)

Yes it is possible to have two versions of Word on the same computer. The
usual advice I see, though, is that they be installed in the order older
version to later. Here's some advice on the topic:

How has your old page format been messed up by W2007?
