Word 2000 new installation oddities

Bert Coules

Apologies for coming back with still more questions, but my
newly-reinstalled Word 2000 (on a PC running Windows XP Pro) keeps throwing
up oddities. One in particular has me puzzled:

Alone of all my programs, the Word Window displays the File/Edit/View bar in
a plain non-serif font. My Windows display options are set to a serif font.

Is there a well-hidden option to customise that part of the display in Word
only?

Many thanks,

Bert

Word seems to be pretty autonomous in this regard. I believe it uses Tahoma
regardless of your Windows display settings.

Suzanne, thanks for the spedy reply.

It seems very strange that I never noticed it on the old installation! In
fact, I could have sworn that there - and on the new PC until just a few
hours ago - that text was in a very different, serif, font...

Possibly so; I won't swear to this. I usually don't customize Windows
display fonts--wouldn't notice the difference between Microsoft Sans Serif
and Tahoma, for example.
