Word 2000 not opening at all

I am in urgent need of help - university student with paper due in 3 days -
word will not open from start menu, or when i select documents from the
'quick picks'. I get a message that it's an 'application crash' and to
contact microsoft - have sent error messages MULTIPLE times. deleted and
reinstalled the program, and still no luck - need help ASAP! Someone please
offer your opinion on what to do next please!
