I've got a new computer… pc / vista home premium / service pack 1
I use Outlook 2007 and have installed office 2007 and uninstalled Word 2007
(I prefer to use Excel and Word 2000)
I installed with the firewall and AVG Internet Security disabled.
I installed Office 2000 and am able to use Excel 2000 without difficulty but
cannot get Word to open correctly… the 'window' opens but there are no menus
or tool bars and it then says 'not responding'.
I have looked for the startup folder, it is empty and the registry does not
show a startup folder.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2000 several times. My last
reinstall was to c:\microsoft office\office -- word still does not open
fully.
I have used Winword.exe /a and that does open Word…. help, please, please,
please help.
I've also changed normal.dot to .old without any change and some of the
registry keys that were suggested (one of the registry key changes did open
word with a few buttons showing but still "not responding").
thank you so very, very much!
