Word 2000 now locks me up

Jolyon

I have been running Word 2000 for about 18 months with no
problems. Then three days ago I tried to open Word by
double clicking on a document. The Word banner started
then the computer locked. After a while I tried to three
key reset and terminate the program. The system error
message came back saying I was low on resources and should
terminate Word. I did but the computer just went down.

I rebooted but the error is still there, Word just locks
every way I try and run it. I have tried un-installing it
then re-installing it, no fix.

Any help please because I run a business using Word and
lots of people want faxing and quoting.

Please help!

I had exactly the same problem and just solved it with the

Chapter 2: After checking the thing with the start bottom
(it worked)I found 4 word documents named "normal" with
the windows explorer, 2 were templates and 2 were
shortcuts. I deleted the shortcuts and 1 template and
renamed the 1 remaining template into "normal.old" and
that was it, it works now
