Word 2000 on Windows XP

Each time I try to open Word 2000 on my XP machine I get
the following error:

AppName: winword.exe
ModVer: 6.0.84.35
Offset: 0004eaf1
AppVer: 9.0.0.2717
ModName: VBE6.dll

Any help will be appreciated.
