Word 2000 open old document from Lotus word pro...

I have several old documents that were made with lotus SmartSuite 97
WordPro. The documents extensions all end in >WP. I tried opening them with
recover text from any document but it was unreadable when opened

Word cannot import native WordPro (.lwp) files. You might consider a
third-party conversion program such as
