Word 2000 Openning doc after downloading

Rhys

Hi,

I have Office 2000 on Win 98SE.
When I send a word document by email or upload a doc to a website it becomes
unreadable by the recipricant. The recipricant gets an error message when
trying to open the file:

"The document name or path is not valid. Try these sugestions.
* Check the file permissions for the document or drive.
* Use the file open dialog box to locate the document"

I tried the suggestions but none of them solved the error.

The document can be loaded by another PC running word by transfering it on a
floppy.
I need this to work as i am seeking employment and I require my CV to be
sent by these means.
Please Help,

Many thanks,

Rhys

In addition to my post:

I have just tried saving the doc as a Word 6.0/95 format and this was
successful.
This brings me to ask the question of what is it that is saved in the new
Word 2000 format that prevents the doc from being sent by email or uploaded
and then viewed by a recipricant?
Also how can I prevent this from occuring?
Is there some setting that can be changed?

Many thanks again,

Rhys
