Word 2000 opens slow -why?

My Word 2000 began open very slow(I'd not remember such
earlier). For example Excel opens much faster. Some time
ago I experimented with macros. But use macros for
document events, not for global template. Is there some
hsrmful influence on Word? Where do check for that Global
template is macros-free? (in detail)
