Word 2000 Problem

I encountered a strange Word2000 Problem. I can't open a
word file when it is an attachment of an email or posted
on a web-site. After I failed to do so, I can't open Word
2000 at all. When I try to restart my computer, it
shows "You can't quit Microsoft Word because a dialog is
active. Switch to Microsoft Word first and close this
dialog."

Does anybody know what the problem is and how to solve it.

Hi Haitao

You'll have to force the computer to close down Word. To do that, Alt-Ctrl-Del. On the Applications tab, choose Word (which will
probably be represented by the name of the document you had/have open). Select it and click End Task.

That should shut down Word, though with Windows XP, I sometimes find I have to be persistent and tell it to end Word several times
before it really believes me<g>.
