My wife has Word 2000 on her computer. 350MHz with 192 M RAM with
Win98SE. She can create documents OK. When she tries to print them, Word
hangs and the Word bar in her task bar blinks blue and the Microsoft
Word at the top blinks blue. She can't shut down without doing a
ctrl/alt/del.
I can bring the file she created over to my computer with Word
2000 on it and it prints with no problems.
I notice that in the list of documents, when she does a ctrl/alt/delete,
there is a same name file with a tilde in front of it so the file must
still be open.
She can't even get to the print box to choose a printer. As soon as
she clicks on print the problem starts.
She can print from other applications.
If she opens Word and then brings the document into Word it works.
However, if she double clicks on a .doc file in Explorer, Word opens to
the document OK but then she can't print. The blue flashing starts and
she has to ctrl/alt/del to get out.
Also, if she opens by double clicking on a .doc file, the icons in the
lower left corner don't work. If she opens Word and then opens a .doc
file, all is OK.
Weird.
Anyone have any idea what's happening on her computer please?
