Word 2000 Problems with TAB key inserting an arrow.

I am having trouble with Word 2000, when using the TAB key, it is inserting
an arrow on all of my word documents I have created in the past and those
that I create currently. I am not sure when or how this started but I can't
seem to locate any information in word to help me troubleshoot it. I am using
Microsoft Office 2000 Professional. Please let me know if anyone has any
suggestions :)
