Word 2000 - Protecting Sections

I am trying to protect certain sections of a document so
that it can be used like a quasi template - but the
sections feature wont engage no matter what selection I
make. Any suggestions?

Jennifer,

How are you "sectioning" your document? The Tools>Protect
Document>Sections command button is greyed out until you
insert at least one "section break."

Section breaks are inserted using Insert>Break and then
apply the section break type you need. For example, you
could braket the first paragraph of this reply between two
continious section breaks and then protect that paragraph.
