Word 2000 settings disappear

Hi

I'm running Word 2000 on Windows XP Home, and it keeps losing my custom
settings. I normally set fast save and spell-check on words in all capitals
to 'on', and automatic numbered list to 'off'.

When the machine is switched off and on again, these settings are cleared.

Can anyone tell me how I can fix this please?

This sort of problem is usually caused by a poorly written add-in. But note
that whatever add-in is unchecking "Fast saves" is doing you a favor, as
this setting is NOT recommended (it is one of the top three causes of
corrupt documents) and has actually been removed from Word 2007.
