Word 2000 shuts down and won't open

I installed Office 2000 on my laptop which has Windows XP
Home.

Every component of office except for Word will open and
run.

I ran Norton Utilities. There was a problem that it could
not fix --- it said:

"C:\program files\common files\
installshield\professional\runtime\0700\intel32
\dotnetinstaller.exe" cannot access a necessary
file, "MSCOREE.DLL".

How do I fix the problem. Can I load mscoree.dll into a
directory? Where do I get the dll to load?
