Word 2000 spaces lines incorrectly

A

Andrew Smith

Hello all,
I'm an I.T. Support Tech and one of my support-ees showed
me a problem with the spacing in his Word 2000 document.
Whenever he uses the carriage return in a new document, it
double spaces his format. Now I've checked the line
spacing and all that and it looks normal.

I opened the document on my PC and it has the same
problem. However, if I copy/paste material with carriage
returns into that document then it displays correctly.
I've seen this problem infrequently but have never found a
solution to it aside from closing Word and starting again
with the document (which is not a solution).

Any ideas and my thanks in advance.

I'd suspect "Format","Paragraph" is where the problem lies, but you
could try renaming "normal.dot" to "normal.old" and then start Word to
create a new template.
