Word 2000 SR-1

when I try to open MS Word 200SR-1 a box opens and says
it encountered a problem and needs to close. Then it ask
to send an error report. When I do this nothing happens.

Terry this web site is the standard reply but I do not
find the answer there. I see nothing about my problem. I
am getting something that tells me to send a report and
when I try to download updates it does not work
