Word 2000 starts up with an old document

When I start up word 2000 I get a document I saved instead of a blank page.
Its labeled Document 1 but its the same as a document I have saved. I've
tried deleting that document in my files but it comes back. Ive tried
running the fix and repair on the instalation disk but it did nothing. I
tried unloading word and reloading but it didn't unload and besides I dont
think I have the registraion numbers that came with the disk which came with
the Dell computer. I think there was a message about corrupting normal the
day or so before this started happening. Running XP on a pentium.

YOu need to get rid of your normal.dot. It has somehow become overwritten
with this other document.
