Word 2000 stops responding while typing FAST?

I and my customer is busy going nuts. It has already
cause much loss of money and xxxxxxx.
Problem.
While tpying in WORD2000 & she types very fast word will
stop responding for +- 10 seconds. Some days it wont
happen at all others more often than not it will hang.
Shutdown & restart then it will be OK for a while. I have
now replaced the PC, re-installed all software all that
was re-used are the original documents & templates.
Please help we are very very desperate. My customer types
letters & documents all day long. I dont know what to try
and fix any more. I never give up but this one !!! ??
