Word 2000 - this program has caused a general protection fault

Susie Kelly

For the last two days I've been unable to use Word. When I
try to run the program a message comes up saying it has
performed an illegal operation and will close down.

The details are:

WINWORD caused a general protection fault
in module APLWIN02.DLL at 0016:000087fe.

This has happened since somebody sent me a Word document
that would not open.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Word 2000 twice to no
avail. Have also installed Word 97, same result, program
will not run.

This is the third time I've tried to post this message to
the board, the other two haven't appeared, if this one
doesn't I suppose I'll just have to give up trying and
probably never find the answer.

Thanks to anybody who can help.

Susie
