Word 2000, uneditable

Ashley

Hello,

Is there a way to make a Word document uneditable? I
will be distributing a document in digital form, and
don't want anybody to be able to edit the document. Is
there any way to do this? I am working in Word 2000 for
windows

Ashley,

you can save the file with a password to Modify, meaning
that one will be prompted to enter a password to modify
the document. It can be read and saved, but any changes
will not be applied without first entering the password.

Tools | Options | Save: enter a password to modify.

However, if that person chooses File - Save As, then saves the document with
another name, they can then modify the document any way they want.

You need to convert it to a PDF.
