Word 2000 updates after XP service pack 2

I accidentally installed service pack 2 on my PC. Now
when I open WORD 2000 it says it can only open in safe
mode. I can create new documents but then I can't read
them after I save them, it just goes nto safe mode. Do I
need a pach for WORD to make t work with XP service pack
2 and where do I get the patch?

That you can start Word in safe mode but not in normal mode suggests that the
normal.dot template may be damaged. See item 2 in
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ProbsOpeningWord.htm.
